The Reuse Initiative CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Ellesmere Port, serving Cheshire and North Wales. Our mission is simple: reduce landfill waste, recycle valuable goods & furniture whilst also creating opportunities for our local community.
Every day, tonnes of items are thrown away — from appliances and furniture to household goods and clothing — most of which can be reused, recycled or repurposed. This is where we come in. We step in to give these items a second life, preventing unnecessary waste and turning them into valuable resources.
What We Do
The Cycle of Change is our core ethos at The Reuse Initiative CIC.

We believe every item has a story — and with the right approach, its story doesn’t have to end in a landfill.
Our four action steps guide how we tackle waste and create opportunities for people and the planet:
♻️ 1. Rescue – Save it before it’s lost
🔧 2. Restore – Give it a new lease of life
🔩 3. Rebuild – Break it down, build it up
🎨4. Reinvent – Create something entirely new

Our Next Steps
We’re currently starting small — but our vision is big. We need your support to:
- Secure a clean, safe warehouse space to process, store & resell recycled items and materials.
- Invest in tools and equipment to safely dismantle and recycle more items.
- Build a community collection network, encouraging local residents and businesses to get involved.
- Launch new education and training programs focused on waste reduction and sustainability.
Get Involved
Every item collected brings us closer to a cleaner future.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donate items you no longer need — from appliances to textiles and furniture.
- Partner with us — as a local business, school or community group.
- Support our mission financially — every pound goes straight back into reducing landfill and building local opportunities.
- Recycle at Work Scheme — Get Started with Your Free Workplace Waste Audit.
